About Evan

I started lifting when I was 14 years old at a measly 140lbs in pursuit of several extrinsic goals, one of which was to cure my inherent lanky geekiness. Three months later I was hooked on the weights and I began to dig deeper into educating myself on how to optimize my progress. At first, it was just by asking more experienced lifters about their methods and consuming mainstream media. Inevitably, I ended up spinning my wheels and making very little progress with that approach. Over time, I gravitated toward the science-based approach due to its objectivity, and began familiarizing myself with research on muscle physiology and associated areas. Despite getting closer and closer to my genetic limit, as my knowledge expanded, my progress continued. I’ve now been training and researching for 13 years and my curiosity and pursuit of perfection has only continued to grow.

I continue to educate myself to this day and take pride in pursuing the best, and most up-to-date, information and principles available in the context of hypertrophy training so that I can provide value and results that others cannot. The world of lifting is fundamentally based in science and, because of that, is always changing. I believe it is up to coaches and professionals to keep up with the most recent of these discoveries, theories, and novel concepts in order to properly fullfill their roles. Complacency is unacceptable.

Along the way, I have been lucky to be coached and mentored by world-class powerlifters, bodybuilders, and coaches. That being said, one of my greatest assets is the amazing network of friends and professionals within the fitness and health space who I have come to develop great relationships with. Not only do these people continually push me to improve on a daily basis, they are also priceless resources who specialize in areas outside of my own expertise.
